UBC-Envision Group Team Leader Tom Gegeny presented at the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) New England Chapter meeting on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Tom is a professional medical communicator who has been working in the field for more than a decade. He is the 2009-2010 President of AMWA, and spoke to members on the subject of Building your medical career through AMWA, outlining the numerous resources that AMWA provides for building careers and enhancing professional development. During a highly informative presentation, Tom guided attendees through AMWA’s expanded education program offerings, self-study text-based workshops, listserves, networking, organizational structure, as well as describing how to become involved in committees and other AMWA activities that develop leadership skills.
