Russell Traynor, of UBC-Envision Group’s Client Solutions team, has been elected President of the International Society of Medical Publications Professionals (ISMPP), beginning in 2012. This selection represents an unparalleled degree of success for the company, as it is the second time in the society’s short history that a UBC-Envision Group team member has been elected to lead the ISMPP (in 2008–2009, the presidency was held by Gene Snyder).

Dan Donovan, co-founder of UBC-Envision Group, was featured in the latest US edition of Communiqué magazine, which invited several industry leaders to participate in a roundtable discussion on the issue of ghostwriting. Communiqué editor Kate Fodor asked participants to explain the distinctions between medical writing and the ghostwriting that has come under fire in the lay press and to explain some of the areas of confusion when it comes to the press’ and the public’s understanding of medical communications.
