Medical Writer Team Lead
Beth Sesler has over a decade of medical communications agency experience, and currently is involved in new business development, creating and managing publication plans for pre-launch and launched products, and overseeing a sizeable team of professional medical writers at UBC Scientific Solutions. Working with US and Worldwide product teams, she has successfully developed and delivered strategic communication solutions, from stand-alone meeting content to full publication plans for blockbuster drugs, market leaders, and novel pre-launch therapies across multiple therapeutic areas, including CNS/pain, dyslipidemia, melanoma, breast cancer, gastrointestinal disorders, menopausal hormone therapy, and endocrine disorders. Within UBC Scientific Solutions, Beth has served in capacities of increasing responsibility, and currently manages writer resources across teams and oversees training of writers across all offices in both writing and planning skills and ensures currency with changing industry standards for good publication practice.
Beth’s passion for mentoring, training, and educating led to her involvement in the International Society of Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP). In her 4 years of ISMPP membership, she has demonstrated commitment to improving medical publications by actively serving on the ISMPP Education Committee—chairing the ISMPP U Working Group (2007-2009) and producing monthly programs on issues and topics integral to our profession. She was among the first to earn the new Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) certification. In 2009, Beth was elected to the ISMPP At-large Trustee position, deepening her involvement in the establishment and adoption of ethical and transparent medical publication standards and best practices industry wide.
Beth received her PhD from The Ohio State University with an emphasis in neuropharmacology.
